LOCAL PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT
We have entered into a Local Partnership Agreement between ourselves, Mossend Primary School and North Lanarkshire council.
Garrion Bridges recognises the need for organisations to become involved in the development of Enterprises in Education and therefore we have committed to the provision of support to the school in the form of professional and technical personnel resource. We together with the school have identified the following projects which will form the main elements of our support.
* Creating Menus
* Food Hygiene Talk
* Cooking Demonstrations
* Advice on Planting
Our Managing Director, Lynette Douglas visited the school and provided the children with literature about the garden centre. She also gave them a talk of day to day running of the coffee shop pointing out that we have to be prepared for visitors who have special dietary needs. She also discussed Hygigne requirements with the coffee Shop. The children were very knowledgeable and she set them a competition to create menus for people who have a wheat allergy.
They sent these Menus to us and we have invited them to the Garden Centre on 22nd May when our Head Chef Joe Fagan will show them how to prepare the menu chosen by Yvonne Murray, MBE. The Group who created the Menu chosen by Yvonne will receive a prize. Margaret our Plant expert will also be giving them a demonstration of seed planting and we will be giving each child seeds and pots to take away.
We welcomed P7 from Mossend Primary School today 22nd May 2008. Our Head Chef Joe picked the winning menu from the entries we received from P7 and he is pictured presenting the winners with their prizes.
Joe, assisted P7 and gave a cooking demonstration to the class. We then gave them a tour round the garden centre and they can be seen trying on hats and helping in various parts of the garden centre. Margaret, our plant expert, helped the children to plant seeds in plant pots and they were given them away with them to grow them in the classroom.. We hope they all enjoyed themselves.
